OBITUARY

Clara Dimphna Wagemakers Larocque

June 25, 1932 – September 2, 2025
Obituary of Clara Dimphna Wagemakers Larocque
IN THE CARE OF

South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium

Clara passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, at Prince of Peace Manor, Rocky View County.

Mom and dad immigrated to Canada in 1954. On their train ride to Lethbridge all they had money for was a loaf of bread and a piece of garlic sausage, only to find out they didn’t like garlic sausage and threw the sausage out the window. Through hard work and determination, they made a wonderful life for themselves and raised 3 children.

Clara leaves behind her sister Jeannie Heitzer and brother Jac Heitzer. As well as her children; Ron Wagemakers (Jean), Rob Wagemakers (Gloria) and Patsy Brown. Her grandchildren; Ben Wagemakers (Kim), Andrea Bell (Chris), Kristin Wagemakers (Corey), Ryan Wagemakers (Natalie), Curtis Wagemakers (Marta), Amber Wagemakers (Luke), Blayne Wagemakers (Bailey), and Melissa. As well as her great-grandchildren; Penelope, Emersyn, Warner, Leilah, Chloe, Atticus, Cooper, Hannah, Giuliana, Coraline, Olivia, Jacob and Abby.

She was predeceased by her infant daughter Linda, first husband John Wagemakers, and her second husband Gary LaRocque.

Her love of music has followed her throughout her life. Mom’s voice propelled her to become well known in the community. She sang at many major events and was often the lead vocalist in the church choir.

We would like to recognize the staff at Prince of Peace Manor that cared for mom so well over the years, especially during her last few weeks. She will be missed by us all.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society.
