Clarence was born in Western Bay, Newfoundland & Labrador in 1929. As a young man he moved west and began his career as a welding apprentice in Edmonton, finally settling in Calgary as an owner/operator rig welder. He retired after working on countless construction projects throughout Alberta including the Calgary 88 Winter Olympic facilities at Canada Olympic Park and Nakiska. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters, Local 496 for 59 years. Clarence enjoyed fishing and camping throughout his life and spent many weekends in Kananaskis Country. All who loved Clarence will miss his sharp wit and keen sense of humour. We sincerely thank the staff of Newport Harbour Care Centre for the excellent care and compassion given to Clarence. A private family service will be held at a later date.
