The world needs more people like Cliodna. Her positive and giving nature were wrapped in an amazing sense of humour. A few water nymph and avid knitter. She was there for me at a time when I needed support. Her kindness and grounded nature lives in my heart.

So sad to hear about this just minutes ago. I really enjoyed my coffees with Cliodna, some of which seemed to go on forever to my great pleasure.  I truly loved working with her. She taught me so much while always making me feel like I knew as much as her, which I clearly didn't. 

Great sense of humour, wickedly clever, forever humble.

Cliodna and my wife became good friends too, and it's easy to see why. She kindly helped my wife and son plan their trip to Ireland.

Cliodna, I'll miss our talks about technology, and I'm forever grateful for our friendship. I don't think we ever had coffee without her teasing me about James Joyce and how I knew the opening lines from Finnegans Wake. So this one's for you my dear:

"Riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay, brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs."


Cliodna was such a wonderful friend. We absolutely adored her. We are deeply shocked and saddened by her sudden passing. She was inspirational. She was so clever and knowledgeable about so many topics. She was such a bright light. Her optimism and genuine caring lifted your spirit just to be around her. She was fun and friendly and so interested in others. Her sense of humour and laugh was contagious. We felt so honoured to be her friend. To her family in Ireland and her many friends around the world please accept our sincere condolences and she is truly missed.

I was shocked to hear of Cliodna’s passing and am thinking of the lovely energy she possessed that will be missed. She had such a young spirit and an wise soul. We worked on a couple of projects together at the city and her enthusiasm for future technology was always contagious.
I hope her last trip was full of joy and adventure as that is how I will remember her.

I had the pleasure to meet Cliodna at a friend 's house. I remember her as a gentle ,smiling person with a great sense of humour. My family and I were sorry to hear of her passing. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Cliodna, you leave us too soon and you will be missed my friend.  I always looked forward to our lunches, catching up with you about work and life. I will miss your magnetic personality, that unique laugh and sparkle in your eyes when you were talking about some new project or concept.  I was fortunate to have the chance to get to know you. Some 25+ years ago Cliodna joined a group of IT folks working on the (then) edges of technology. She was a welcome addition, an enthusiastic team member, eager to contribute, and eager to learn.  Over time she became a significant driver in forming a bond of friendship that has long outlasted our professional association.  She often organised, and always attended, the socials and lunches that we all enjoyed. Only a month ago she got us all together for lunch (appropriately at an Irish Pub) and we enjoyed what we did not know would be our last time with Cliodna.  I will miss her, as I am sure her other colleagues will too. She was a wonderful person to know.


Cliodna, I will always remember your smile, infectious laugh and great sense of humour. My deepest sympathies to her family, she will be greatly missed by her many friends past and present.  You could not meet this woman and not be impressed by her gentle and generous nature.  

It was my pleasure to be Cliodna’s hairstylist for at least 15 years. She was always cheerful and loved a good laugh. I enjoyed seeing her smiling face and loved to joke around with her. She cared about how I was doing and would listen in earnest when we talked. She will be remembered as a kind and honest person who was genuine and giving of herself. I will miss seeing her and give my condolences to her friends and family. It was shocking to hear of her sudden passing . I do know how much she was looking forward to her visit with her friends. She used to joke about being a fragile flower and I will remember her as having great inner strength and grace.

I swam Masters with Cliodna for many years and always enjoyed her company. She was a friendly, cheerful and outgoing person. She will be missed in the pool.
