

Cornelis (Kees) Krabbe was taken to glory Thursday, February 24, 2011. Kees was born December 11, 1920 in Culemborg, The Netherlands and immigrated with his wife Lies Roodenburg (preceded him 1978) to Calgary. He was employed his entire career as an engineer with Canada Cities Service, including fifteen years in Drayton Valley. He enjoyed his career, was an avid garage saler, and a long-time youth elder in the Christian Reformed Church. Kees was known in later years as the ""Candy Man"" in church. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Salomons; daughter Antoinette (Hilary Hettinga); son Gerald (Jenny Walinga); grandsons - Blayne (Jodi), Jordan (Kinsley), Joshua, Silas, Reuben; great-grandson Holden; two brothers - Klaas (Janny), Gerrit (Janny) in the Netherlands. A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery). A Memorial Service to celebrate Kees' life will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at RIver Park Church, 3818 - 14A Street S.W., Calgary. A family burial will take place on Tuesday morning at Queen's Park Cemetery.
