He was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Dennis and Darryl.
Dale spent his early years in Macrorie, Saskatchewan. While there, he met Lois Norrish while she was a student teacher in Macrorie. He would joke that the teacher seduced him, but we all know that he was smitten when he met her. Dale was hardworking, and as a young man he helped with the building of the Diefenbaker Dam.
Dale and Lois fled the wheat fields of Saskatchewan for the country’s capital, and soon after, had baby Timothy “Tim”. Realizing that they missed their family and friends, they returned to Moose Jaw, where they got it right with baby #2, Tamara “Tammy”. Following a brief stopover in Saskatoon, they moved to the up-and-coming city of Calgary.
It was here that Dale was accepted into firefighting training (by standing on his tippy toes). He was a firefighter with the City of Calgary for approximately 10 years. He began to pursue other opportunities and opened numerous fast-food restaurants, while at the same time finding success in real estate.
Throughout the years, friendships, and especially decades-old friendships were very special to him.
He was most proud of his grandchildren, Matthew, Emma and Owen. He would brag about them often and he would light up when they would visit “Papa”.
We miss you already, we love you, and we know that you are in the best hands until we see you again!
