I first met Dawn back in the in the 1980's and was struck by her out going personality and wonderful generosity. Later on in life, our paths crossed again in an off-leash area were our dogs happened to be playing together. It turned out she and her husband lived only a couple of blocks from us and it was really nice to reconnect with her over our shared love of ours dogs.

I will miss her very much.

Dawn was our team leader for PALS visits to the Foothills Hospital Adolescent and Teen Psychiatry unit.  From our first introduction she welcomed me warmly to the group and I was struck by what a gracious and caring person she was.  Although I did not know Dawn all that well or for very long, her tragic accident and passing struck me, and the other team members, deeply and was a stark reminder of how precious yet transient life can be.

We will miss you Dawn and always remember with the fondest of memories.

I remember Dawn from when I was a child, and it was such a treat to be reacquainted through our work at the AER.  Dawn was always such a terrific teammate, and her experience from mediation often played out on the team, where she shared many insights and had a gift for finding common ground in even complex situations.  She was generous with her time, kind with her words and meticulous in her work.  Her passing touched me deeply. 

Sending Dawn's family and friends my deepest condolences.  While I was unable to attend the service due to a health issue, I know it will have been filled with others whose lives she also touched.  

Dawn, may your bright light continue to shine.

My sincere condolences to Ron, Ryley and family. I was shocked and saddened by the tragic news of Dawn’s passing. Having worked with Dawn, I had the opportunity to enjoy her company as a colleague in the office and outside whether it was a quickly planned trip to Palm Springs or a night out with the girls. We definitely shared some good laughs.

My heart goes out to you and I hope these memories and outpouring of support will help you through this difficult time.

Dawn - I simply cannot believe you are gone!  I hope you can feel the love from all of us in heaven.  

And I am sure you are giving God a run for his money!. 😃

It is with undeniable sadness we say good bye to a friend and an amazing lady!
We met Dawn through the Bunco Gals, which evolved to a beautiful friendship with her and Ron outside the group.
I was so excited when Dawn decided to join me on an adventure to Mexico to build houses for families, through Friends Church.  It was an amazing experience and we had a blast together.  During the week, I witnessed her unstoppable work ethic, her compassion and caring interaction with the family we were building for, and her ability to effortlessly mix in with the younger generation of builders! At night, in our little tent, we would talk and giggle as we shared the days events before falling “fast” asleep.
Always a Smile!  Never a Complaint!  Many Laughs! And she always looked AMAZING!
Dawn, I’m so thankful to have shared that experience; you will be forever missed.

Family memories of sharing so many summers together at Seba beach, climbing The Face, and just enjoying so many summer days with with your family flood our thoughts. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Dawn.  I am saddened by the news of her passing.  She was a truly special individual with a bright smile and positive attitude that was infectious.  Dawn was an employee of mine at the Alberta Energy Regulator and I will always remember her sunny disposition and tireless work ethic.  

She will be missed,  My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.  May her light always shine bright. 



My deepest condolences to Dawn's family.  I'm heartbroken for your loss.   I worked with Dawn at ENMAX - in fact she hired me to replace her when she was moving onward and upward in the organization and we continued to work and socialize together for many years.  I will always remember Dawn's smile, laughter, and huge heart. 

Ron, Ryley, Hudson, and all the members of Dawn's family---I extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you. My gosh, Dawn and I go back many years, as we initially met in mediation courses at SAIT. Dawn, being great with people, was a natural mediator. Out of the mediation courses came a wonderful friendship that I will truly miss. Dawn was also a very important part of Community Mediation Calgary Society, where she  was previously a Board member. The common thread? Dawn loved to help others and give back. She will be greatly missed, but I can feel her spirit all around. Happy mediating Dawn! Love and big hugs my dear friend, Kari :o) 

To Dawn's family and friends,

I worked with Dawn in one capacity or another for 5 years .  Dawn  was more that a colleague;  we grew to become friends through some very challenging projects and circumstances.  Through all of those challenges Dawn never once wavered.  She showed true grace under pressure; calm in front of adversity and she did it all with a smile.  She always struck me as someone with a deep conviction of serving community and bettering the lives of the people around her.  She will always remain for me someone who modeled authenticity and genuine dedication to her work, her colleagues and most importantly her family. Dawn made a difference and I will miss her contagious smile, positivity and her ability to make the people around her better.  I will think of her often and do my best to honor her by remembering and living her examples of leadership and strength.  My one deep regret is that I didn't follow up on going for coffee with her before she started her masters program.  As often happens, priorities shifted and the swirl of our careers moved us in different directions.  I was so proud of her for choosing this academic challenge and being deliberative in her search for excellence in community engagement. There was a great little coffee spot we liked to go to when we needed to catch up.  I think perhaps I will go there again and have a coffee and think fondly of my friend. 

For her family - I am sure you all know how much Dawn loved you.  At work, Dawn kept her home life private, but sometimes she spoke about Ron and Ryley, and she spoke with such pride and love in her voice.  I am truly sorry for your unimaginable loss and I hope that your memories and love for Dawn will console you and never diminish.  How could they?  She is an amazing person. My sincerest wishes to all of you as you begin to move forward.  I wish you all nothing but peace and love.

Hi Ron,
I have been thinking about you and your family!
I remember coming to Sundre and meeting you and  Dawn and Riley when you bought your lot out there!  
I remember meeting Hudson and how he smiles!  
I remember the Chix, with cocktails in hand, stopping by your lot and Dawn would welcome us in!  One of my favourite times was when she was having an afternoon nap in the hammock on your porch!  
I was so excited when she started bringing Hudson to YYC and I was able to visit them while I was working- so awesome!   A few months ago I was trying to reach a co worker named Dawn and so I sent her a text message saying Missing you at YYC!  Turns out I sent it to your Dawn and when she called me back we giggled and laughed and talked about getting together!  
This summer she shared her Mojito recipe with me; In her memory I will toast to the wonderful lady she was and how honoured I am to have known her!

I worked with Dawn at the foothills hospital.  When I started I had a dog named Taxco who was a golden retriever.  He had a huge bubble when it came to other dogs.  When I started at FHH it was Dawn and Hudson who met us in the parking lot.  Well ,when Taxco saw this big ball of orange fur he lost his mind.  Dawn just said to him, it’s ok Taxco you’ll be fine we’ll just walk around the parking lot till you get used to us.  It wasn’t long and the four of us were walking nicely.  After that the four of us just clicked.  Taxco always needed to see Dawn for pets and a kiss before we could start our visit.  
We volunteered in the adolescent psych ward which was sometimes a hard visit.  Dawn was always so calm, kind and patient with the kids,  she always made them feel important.  
When I lost Taxco to cancer I called Dawn and we both had a cry.  She assured me that Taxco was in a better place.  
We were both on the airport team as well. So sometimes we went together to catch up on our busy lives.  When I started at the airport with my second golden Arbutus, it was Dawn and Hudson that showed her the way.
Dawn I will miss you, even though we didn’t see each other often enough, When we did it , we always had a lot of laughs and good conversation.  
I will always remember the last time I saw you.  We were in our pre-boarding PALS office and talking about Taxco.  We were both crying and remembering the goofy times the four of us had together.  We gave each other a huge hug and went on with our day.  
Good bye my friend l will see you down the road.
