She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her daughter Betty (John) Robertson of Courtenay, BC; son Bill (Daphne) Chalmers; grandsons Brodie (Trudi) and Blake (Lynne); and great grandsons Corbin and Jet Chalmers. Della is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Howey of Edmonton and nephew Ernie Randall of Priddis. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2002. Della was born in Cereal, Alberta on January 16, 1922. When she was a teenager her family moved to Calgary. Della was very active in sports and loved to play baseball. She was a tremendous speed skater and spent many hours at the Crystal Skating Rink where she met Jack. They were married at Wesley United Church on October 19, 1946. Della was very involved with the church, the community of Rosemont and raising her children. She loved curling and bowling at the Calgary Winter Club as well as golfing at the Elks Club. Della also loved pets, no matter whose they were, but had a special attraction to cats, especially her cat Boots. Della and Jack had many enjoyable years of traveling and trailering and she enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, cross stitch and jig saw puzzles. Della’s red hair made her feisty but she was a friendly person who will be deeply missed.
