

Don’s next tee time will be in a higher place. He passed away early on January 5th, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Edna, three children Allan (Christine) Davies, Terry (Neil) Davies-Petrunia, and Barb Davies. He is also survived by three grandchildren – Jeffrey (Dallas), Andrea (Jesse) and Jennifer (Jesse) – and two great-grandchildren, Gracie and Tanner.
Don was born in Calgary on April 12th, 1923 and attended Central High School. He attended the University of British Columbia where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity and received his B.A.C. in 1943.
He was employed over a period of 18 years at the Cominco – Calgary Fertilizer Plant and for 28 years at the Texas Gulf/Canterra Energy Sulphur Plant in Okotoks, retiring in 1987 as Plant Superintendent.
Don was a Charter Member of Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed many happy hours playing golf with his buddies. He taught First Aid for St. John’s Ambulance for over 35 years, retiring in 1998.
A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Tuesday, January 11 at noon at Canyon Meadows Golf Course, 12501 – 14 St. S.W. If friends so desire, donations in Don’s name may be made to a charity of their choice. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Dargie, and Dr. Kristin Fraser.
