Don was born and raised in Whitewood, Saskatchewan. At an early age he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served on many Canadian bases as well as in Metz, France. He retired to Victoria, BC where he worked as a draftsman for the BC government. Don and Helen then moved to Calgary 20+ years ago.
Don was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen (Newlove) in 2003, his parents, Malcolm and Muriel McLean, his brother Bob, sister Muriel and friend Agnes Eby. He is survived by nephews Scott McLean and Mike Barker, and nieces Susan Struder and Heather Cloran as well as Helen’s nieces and nephews and their families, Sid Humphries (Gail), Peggy Agnew (Bill Breach), Elaine Therrien (Albert), Gordon Humphries deceased (Lorraine), Barb Lindberg (Wayne), Lillian Denbow (Gary), and Susan Humphries.

A Celebration of Life will be at Ogden House Seniors Club, (2102 69 Avenue SE), on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Don’s memory directly to the Ogden House Senior Citizen Club, (2102 69 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2C 3Y4).
