Donna Ruth Eby

Donna passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of January 25, 2025, at the age of 89. Donna was a kind and caring mother and grandmother, and we all knew that she loved us dearly. Always there for us, cheering on our accomplishments, big or small, with her hugs, kisses, and encouraging, supporting words.

Donna was predeceased by her husband, Doug, of 59 years, and her sister Patricia. Surviving Donna to cherish her memory are her children Janice (Andrew Jonsson), Jim (Tamera) and her three beautiful grandchildren: Alysse, Jaden and James. Donna is also survived by her brother David Kinloch, her nieces Deborah, Diana, Heather, Jennifer, Pamela, Pat and Chris, her nephew John and their families.

Donna was born, raised and spent most of her life in Edmonton with Doug, moving to Calgary to be close to their children and grandchildren. Donna was an accomplished tennis player in her youth which led to her meeting her future husband. She was a teacher, graduating with her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. Donna taught for a few years in Edmonton, leaving the profession to dedicate herself to raising their two children.

At Donna’s request there will be no funeral service. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
