It is with great sadness that the family of Dougie Gunville announces his passing on September 27, 2025, at the age of 56 years old.
A life lived making memories and not dreams, Dougie was an avid outdoor enthusiast and accomplished skier. When he wasn’t on the slopes, he could be found fishing, hiking, or foraging for local mushrooms and berries. A dedicated Edmonton Oilers fan, he rarely missed a game and took great joy in sharing his good-natured banter about the sport. Known for his friendly nature and infectious laugh, Dougie touched the lives of many in the small communities he called home throughout his life.
Dougie is survived by his mother, aunts and uncles, siblings, and nieces and nephews, who will remember him for his warmth, humour, and generous spirit.
