Doug passed away on February 1, 2017.
He was a quiet man who loved simple things; peanut butter cookies, a great book, and the joy that comes from sharing a smile. In younger years he was honored with the Queen’s Scout Award, and as a man he served his country with honor in the Canadian Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. He loved to travel, and when failing health limited him, he used Facebook as a platform to continue to share his love of laughter with people all over the world. He was generous when he could, and shared freely what he had.
Doug is survived by his only daughter Jennifer (Martin); three beautiful granddaughters Annabeth, Layla and Willow; his sisters Kathy (Al), Sherry (Phil) and Gerry (Brad); his aunt Geraldine; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.
- Theodor Seuss Geisel
