Eileen Lorna Crowe, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Eileen was the youngest of five and came to Canada at the age of one. She grew up in Saskatchewan, primarily Moosimin, then moved to Calgary at the age of 16, where she spent the rest of her years. Eileen loved the simple life; camping, hiking, and reading by the lake for hours while her husband fished. Her passion later in life was travelling the world and together with her husband toured 16 countries. For Eileen, there was nothing more valued than the time spent with family. Her volunteering with severe physically challenged children in the community and work as an administrator and statistician gave her some pleasure but the full time position of Mom brought her the most joy. Eileen was known for her keen sense of humor, determination, friendliness and ability to chat (a lot).
Eileen will be dearly missed and forever remembered by her daughter Susan (Bob) Archer; grandchildren Carrie (Nelson) Freitas, Kevin Francis, Nick and Mel Archer; great-grandchildren Marlee and Harper Freitas; her sister Betty Wonnacott and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her caregivers, Josephine and Zunny and her fabulous neighbors, all whom brought some extra sunshine into her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
