Einar was born in Prince George, B.C. and came to Calgary in 1972. He found work in construction and then with his Uncle in the saw sharpening business. He eventually started Keen-Edge Sharpening in 1980 and retired in 2012. He enjoyed success in the industry and made many acquaintances over the years. He travelled to many seminars and trade shows in the USA and Europe with the International Saw & Knife Association. Einar was a lifelong learner always keeping up with the latest technology in the industry.
After retirement, he enjoyed reading, golfing, bike riding and travelling, especially winters spent in the Caribbean and Panama. This past year he was proud to take his grandson golfing with him. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. A highlight for him was the volunteer trip to Indonesia with Habitat for Humanity Global Village to build a house.
Einar was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed greatly by Janet; his children Pamela (son Dillan), Kyle (Kristie) and Karla (John); and grandchildren Archer, Arden and Luke. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Bernice (Gordon), Myrna (Bob), Helen (Barry), Alfred (Valerie), Henry and Elaine, as well as many nieces, nephews and Janet’s family. Einar was predeceased by his parents Einar and Erna and his brother Marvin.
