Elizabeth “Betty” McRobbie passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 81 years.
Born in October, 1937 to Annie and Donald Murdoch, in Airdrie, Scotland, Betty was proud of growing up in Scotland and of her Scottish heritage. She married Frank, the love of her life, in March, 1963 in Scotland. They moved to Ottawa in 1965, and finally to Calgary in 1969. It was in Calgary where their daughter, Susan, was born, and where the family built their life.
Left to mourn Betty are her husband Frank, of 56 years; daughter Susan (Rick) Coates; granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda; and brother Robert (Hilary) Murdoch.
Betty worked at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, as an administrative assistant, for many doctors over the years, making numerous life-long friends. Bowling leagues were an integral part of Betty and Frank’s lives, enjoying many pleasant evenings with friends. Betty’s two granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda, were the loves of her life! Spending time with them was important to her and she cherished every moment she could. Attending Broadway musicals with her daughter, Susan, were fun, easy-going evenings that both remembered fondly.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 2:00P.M. to 5:00P.M
