Born on August 25, 1933, in Fosston, Saskatchewan, Elsie was the beloved daughter of Alexander and Mary Anderson and the third youngest among twelve siblings. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Gail Youngblood, with whom she shared 58 years of happy marriage. Together, they raised four children: Ross, Scott (Maria), Rod (Holly), and Janine (Wade). Elsie’s legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren—Jeremy, Cindy, Amy, Kimberly, Alanna, Taylor, Mikayla, Jessica, and Luke—and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Elsie was cherished by family and friends alike. She loved engaging in conversation with everyone she met, playing bridge with her friends, and baking cinnamon rolls and buns for any occasion. For 40 years, she worked at Simpson Sears in North Hill Mall, forming many lasting friendships throughout her career. Her close bond with her siblings was evident, as she spoke with them weekly. Elsie found joy in traveling, and Maui held a special place in her heart.
