Ezekiel P. Leviste passed away peacefully at the RFH on July 26, 2022 at the age of 9 years. “Zeke”/ “Zek” as he is so fondly called by everyone, was born in Calgary, AB on February 14, 2013. He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Gerald Prado Leviste and Ritzie Nelle Penaflor. He is also sadly missed by his twin brother Jeremiah Leviste.
Ezekiel started school at the age of 2 1/2 years. He was a student at GRIT until he graduated in the year 2018. After GRIT, Ezekiel attended school in St. Alphonsus Catholic School. He was in Grade 4. His teachers described him to be very patient.
Ezekiel will always be remembered to be the kindest and calmest soul. He never complained and he always tried his very best to make things easy. He was so well-behaved and was a very loving and caring person. He always tried to set a good example for his brother to follow. He loved his Mama and Papa very much.
Ezekiel enjoyed listening to stories especially Bible stories before bedtime. He loved sensory play involving lots of lights. His eyes would twinkle and brighten up whenever he saw different colors light up all around him. He was very interested in arts and crafts too, especially painting and always came up with the most beautiful and tidiest work. Ezekiel’s favorite colors were red and green. His favorite cartoon characters include Clifford the dog and Woody from Toy Story. He enjoyed watching Coco Melon and Paw Patrol on Youtube.
Ezekiel always had the most unique and creative costumes during Halloween and Christmas. His mom always came up with the best ideas and DIY projects to make sure Zeke looked amazing on these occasions. Zeke has dressed up as Harry Potter, Carl from Up, and Superman to name a few.
One of Zeke’s unforgettable memories was when he was granted his wish by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Ezekiel travelled all the way to Orlando, Florida, together with his parents, his twin brother Jeremiah, and his nurses for an all-expense paid trip in November 2018. They visited Disney World, Universal Studios, Seaworld, Epcot, and stayed at the Give Kids the World Village. He especially enjoyed the Muppets Show, the Sea Life Aquarium at Seaworld, and of course the magical fireworks display at Disney World.
Ezekiel fought long and hard, and continued to show his strength until the very end.
