

Floyd Francis Gillard passed away suddenly on January 14, 2017, at the age of 63 years.
Floyd was born on April 1, 1953 in Barrhead, Alberta and grew up in Tiger Lily, Alberta. Not one for farm life, he left at the age of 17 to go work in Hinton. Floyd worked for 40 years in the coal industry, working his way up to Purchasing Manager at the mine. He spent the last few years enjoying his retirement, golfing as much as he could, and being a Grandpa. He will be deeply missed. Floyd is survived by his partner, Jackie Caouette; his sons Monty Gillard (Tammy Thompson), Devon (Barbara) Gillard, and their mother Louise Conant; his son Spencer Gillard, daughter McKendra Gillard, and their mother Leah Gillard; and his grandchildren. Floyd is also survived by his sister Charlotte (Wayne) Flood, Maryann (Doug) Burns, Wendy (Leon) Holman, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Francis and June Gillard, sister Audrey Steinbring, and nephew Vernon Burns.
