Freda Petruska

Mom passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on September 8, 2022, at the age of 92 years.

Born February 1, 1930 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, daughter of Fred and Katherine, sister of John, Fred, Audie, Eddie, Bob, Emma, and Cecil. All Predeceased.

She is also predeceased by our father Edward, on May 17, 2022, her husband of 66 years. This was a devastating loss for mom. She truly missed him every single day.

She is survived by her children David (Nancy) Petruska, Kathy (Vance) Zeh, Danny (Pam) Petruska, Jerry (Tracy) Petruska; her grandchildren Danny (Vanessa) Petruska, Mandy (Sean) McMullen, Heidi (Sebastian) Scalercio, Gordie (Tracy) Zeh, Nathan (Jennifer) Petruska, Mark Petruska, Jared (Dominique) Petruska, Brian Petruska, Parker Petruska, Chase (Ryleigh) Petruska; and her great grandchildren Deegan, Amelia, Ryanne, Sloan, Lincoln, Connor, Emily, and Tate.

Mom worked at the Moose Jaw Train Station, and at the Moose Jaw Hospital prior to moving to Calgary, Alberta, in 1955.

Mom married her best friend Dubs (Edward Petruska) in December 1955, they spent 66 beautiful years together raising their family and enjoying life. They were inseparable, enjoying many outdoor activities such as walking, skiing, camping, watching sporting events, and spending time with their family.

Mom was a proud supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She could often be found on the sidelines cheering and supporting them at their events.

Mom will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 4 Street NW, Calgary, (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
