He was born in London, Ontario, and moved to Calgary in 1981, where he worked as a Security Supervisor, and moved up to Manager for the Centre of Performing Arts until his retirement – he loved this job. He loved being a part of the productions, and the perk of getting to meet some pretty famous celebrities. Having beers with Merle Haggard, and meeting Johnny Cash.
Fred had the great pleasure of meeting his great grandchildren Blayke, and Zayden, whom were his pride and joy. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his son Darrin; son-in-law James; granddaughters Kendra (Ryan), and Sarah; his sister Gloria; and brothers Bob (Linda), Rick (Sandra).
He is predeceased by his wife Mavis; his daughter Tracey; his sister Kathie (Russ), his brother-in-law Vic (Gloria); and his parents Annie Brown and Howard Aldington.
Fred lived a very honourable life. He was proud to be a Canadian, and so very proud of our troops. He was not afraid to tell it how it was. He was always honest, and had a good, kind, and caring heart.
