

KUEHN, Fredrick,age 91, left this world on Friday, October 29, 2010 to join his Heavenly Father. He passed away at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary with his wife, Hulda, and family at his side. Fred is honoured and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-eight years, Hulda; children, Sig (Tannis), Karin (Garry), Norbert (Karen); grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew (Amanda), Anne, Andrew, Kimberly (Justin), Alex; siblings, Helene, Helmut, Oswald; cousins, nieces and nephews; church family, and many friends. Fredrick was predeceased by his mother, Luise Frank; father, Karl Kuhn; siblings, Sophie, Marie, Pauline, Therese, and Andreas. Fred immigrated from Germany in May 1951 and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he became a born-again Christian in the autumn of 1951 at McDermott Baptist Church. It is there that he met and married Hulda Laser in 1952. In 1970, Old Dutch Foods relocated Fred and his family to Calgary, Alberta. Fred became a dedicated member of Thornhill Baptist Church where he fervently sang in the church choir. He loved the Lord Jesus deeply and he is known as a man of commitment, courage, faith, and faithfulness. Fred enjoyed raising pigeons, pheasants and quail, and was most passionate about fishing and blessing others with his “catches”. Relatives and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. All are welcome to attend Fred’s Life Celebration at Thornhill Baptist Church, 128 Tache Avenue NW, Calgary on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 1:30p.m. with Pastor Ken VanderMeulen officiating. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Thornhill Baptist Church Missions. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
