Garfield Henry LaRocque

Gary was born in Gunn, Alberta on May 18, 1937.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Clara; daughter Janice (Steve); son Gary (Sharon); step-daughter Pat (Jim); step-son Rob (Gloria); step-son Ron (Jean); and brothers Wayne (Linda), Keith (Leanne), Reg (Luzi) and Daryl (Irene). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as literally dozens of surrogate children that he supported while involved in drum corps. Gary was predeceased by his parents Emily and Walter, brother Ron, sister Barb and brother-in-law John.

Dad was a passionate man that rarely did anything halfway. He was a loving son, husband and father who will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Please join us to celebrate the life of my father. He touched many people and will always be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Gary’s memory directly to The Lung Association, Alberta & NWT, (P.O. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2).
