Greta Jones

July 4, 1935 – February 8, 2012

Greta Jones of Calgary, beloved wife of Trevor, passed away on February 8, 2012 surrounded by her family. Greta was born July 4, 1935 in Hauge I Dalane, Sokndal, Norway. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Trevor; sons Jeffrey (Annette) of England and Bradford; daughters Charlene (Carey) Jones Bastian and Pamela (Gunnar) Thorberg, all of Calgary; and grandchildren Kalen Jones, Kiefer Jones and Benjamin Jones. She is also survived by her brother Rolf (Sharon) Lenning; sisters Brith Lenning, Ann (Willie) Kopp and Darlene (Jack) Ermter; numerous nieces and nephews as well as family in Norway. Greta was predeceased by her parents Johan and Kaia Lenning; sisters Ellynor Mikkelson and Mary Stasiuk; and brother Jon Lenning. Greta was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister and will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of unit 93 of the Rockyview Hospital. Those wishing to pay their respects did so at visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, February 15, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service was held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
