

Hazel Margrite Hayes passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Peter Lougheed Centre on June 6, 2005 at the age of 86 years. Hazel is survived by her sons, Charles, Richard and Kenneth, their wives, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and her brother Hugh McKenzie. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Charles Hayes, her sisters Sadie, Gwen and Retta.
Hazel was a Calgary resident for almost 50 years. Besides being a housewife and a mother she held various positions in life. She was a clerk, a secretary and a credit councilor; she took a university education late in life and after her husband’s death she became an elementary and kindergarten teacher. She had a great interest in living and finding out about the world. She had many friends. She lived and died, she will be missed.
Thank-you to the staff of the CCU Unit 24 of the Peter Lougheed Centre for the excellent care given to Hazel during her stay.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, June 13, 2005 at 3:00 pm.
