

He is survived by four children; one son Wayne Wong (Rachel), twin girls Gladys Wong and Joy Choww (Colin) and the youngest daughter June Clark (Stewart); four beautiful grandchildren Chelsea (Owen), Dylan, Alyssa and Maddison and one great grandson (Miller) just born last November.
Henry was born in the Village Chong Sui Ow Li - County of Toishan Province of Guangdong. He immigrated to Canada 1951 to settle in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan where he was educated.
Later he went to work in Saskatoon and worked at a restaurant called Marigold Cafe for a number of years before moving to Quill Lake, Saskatchewan in 1958.
Henry became part owner in a restaurant called Quill Lake Cafe. He was excited and flew back to China to marry his wife Jean Wong in 1963.
Henry got ambitious and wanted to run his own restaurant. In April 1974 he moved with his young family to Wadena, Saskatchewan where he bought and operated the cafe called Dave’s Diner.
He retired in 1990 to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 2013 he settled in Calgary, Alberta at Rocky Ridge Manor and remained there until his untimely death on January 18, 2024.
He enjoyed his life, was very selfless, independent and strong willed, dedicated to family and community. Besides his love for his family, he really enjoyed his love for golf with his friends. Later in life while retired he enjoyed gardening.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, AB (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
