Hing Hang Guel Leong

August 4, 1932 – September 22, 2010

It is with profound sadness that the family of Hing Leong announces her passing on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Hing will be dearly missed by her husband of forty-seven years, Harry; son Howard; daughter Sherry (Michael Querry) and granddaughter Wei Ling. She is survived by her sister Ann (Nelson Chan) of Winnipeg, MB; brother Chuck Wong (Sue), as well as many nieces and nephews and close friends. Hing was predeceased by her mother Ngoot Sing Chan and her father Kim Guong Wong in 1988. Born in China, Guangdong province, Toisan village, Hing came to Canada in 1956 to live a full and remarkable life. She was a devoted wife, caring and loving mother and the best “po po” ever. Thank you to the staff at Foothills Medical Centre and Sarcee Carewest. We are grateful for the care and compassion they extended to Hing and her family. Hing will be genuinely missed but her strength and memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
