Jacqueline Anne Graves-Ross

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and dedicated mother, sister, aunt and daughter “Jackie”. Jackie passed away on October 4, 2015 after a long battle with Dementia.

Jackie was born in Winnipeg, MB on February 9, 1940. She spent most of her childhood years in Edmonton. She graduated from the University of Alberta and worked many years as a radiologist. She later moved to the Montreal area where she and former husband Holly raised their five children. They moved back to Alberta in 1983 settling in Calgary where she spent the rest of her life. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Marvyn and Alice Graves of Edmonton.

Jacqueline is survived by her children, Dwight (Tanya) Ross, Shannon (Steve) Ross, Catherine (Kent) Collins, Doug (Tanya) Ross, and Deryk (Brandy) Ross; and seven wonderful grandchildren, Dylan, Alesha, Tori-Anne, Joshua, Donovan, Emma and Sophie. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne (Keith) Cole, and brothers, Ian and Wilton (Karen) Graves.

Jackie was a dear and loving soul who dedicated herself wholly to her family and in particular her children, their partners and her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her warm smile, her witty sense of humor and most of all, her caring nature. She always opened her home to friends and family and she genuinely loved them with all of her heart. Over the course of her life, Jackie touched countless people, many of whom will recount the lasting impression she left on their lives.

A private family-only Celebration of her Life will take place in the spring of 2016 at one of her most endeared places, Seba Beach, AB.

The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the caring staff at Mount Royal Care Centre in Calgary, and Carewest Signal Pointe also in Calgary.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Jackie’s memory to either the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, (375 University Avenue, Suite 301, Toronto, Ontario M5G 2J5) or to Alzheimer Society of Canada, (20 Eglinton Ave. W., Ste. 1600, Toronto, ON M4R 1K8).
