Jaime Becles Narra

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Jaime Becles Narra, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who entered into eternal rest in the first week of July 2025, just after celebrating his 100th birthday. Jaime was actually born on July 1st, but his birth wasn’t registered until July 8th. As a result, the official records list July 8th as his date of birth, but the family has always celebrated his real one on July 1st.

Born in the Philippines, Jaime lived a full and meaningful life. He worked as a farmer. With his hands he nurtured the land, and with his heart, he nurtured his family.

He immigrated to Canada alongside his devoted wife, Eugenia Narra. Jaime was a man of joy and simplicity. He loved to sing his favourite song, “You Are My Sunshine”. He was also a loyal sports fan; wrestling was his favourite show!

Jaime is lovingly remembered by his children, Rowena (Alejo “Joy”) Velasco, Samuel (Maribel) Narra; his grandchildren, Mariedelle Velasco, Erick Narra, Kirstine Joy (Henry) De Guzman, Christian (Elgie) Narra, Randy Narra, Jhudan Narra, Marla Grace Narra, Clarissa Narra, Mark Narra, Janeska Narra, and Diana Rose Angan-Angan, as well as his great-grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the privilege to know him.

He is now joyfully reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Eugenia, and his sons, Rowel and Dante Narra.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness...” – 2 Timothy 4: 7-8.

A Prayer Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. For those that would like to attend virtually, please use the link below.
