James “Jim” Main passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Bowview Manor, at the age of 90. He was born in March 1930 to David and Elizabeth in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but would spend his formative years in Calgary, Alberta. Jim had a long and successful career with Imperial Oil Ltd (Esso). He volunteered his time with the 1988 Calgary Olympics, and the Calgary Police Service. Over the course of Jim’s life he enjoyed many hobbies including curling, fishing, a love of model planes and trains and a passion for music that would see him contribute to his church choir and a Barbershop Quartet.
Jim will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children and their families, Patricia & Tom; David & Roslie, and Sunday as well as his grandchildren; Ashley, Shawna, and Ryan.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna Marie and his parents, David & Elizabeth. They will all be reunited at a private family committal service at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
