Jean Ewing

Fondly known as Jean, Jeannie, Grandma and Gigi (G.G.), Jean was proud of the time she spent working at the Army Barracks in Calgary and The William Roper Hull Home for children. She recently described her life as charmed, as she married the love of her life and the two shared many exciting business ventures. They travelled extensively with her favorite places being Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV.

Jean felt blessed by her large family and friends who will lovingly remember her; Larry, Roieen, Hart, Lilliane, Brad, Terri, Cher, Rob, Dave, Tina, Raena, Joel, Charlotte, Norman, Haley, Sofia, Zachary, Blake, Aaron, Christa, Emily, Zachary, Gillian, Preston, Bailey, Shikha, Aaryan, Hayden, Naiomi, Greyson, Bee, Dan, Renee, Matt, Chelsie, Leona, Cherrone, Betty, Peter, Walter, as well as Marge and Gab Aubin, Rhoda Whiteley, Kathy Herndon, and Tony and Sheilagh Sims. Jean was predeceased by her husband Gerald (Gerry), her mother and father (Mary and Roy Thompson), granddaughter Kristen, sister Dora (Harry), brother George, brother Bob, sister-in-law Shirley, brother Howard, sister-in-law Shirley and Gerry’s family; Lois, Newell, Ingrid, Denis and Irene.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her primary care giver Dainel Perez and her other primary care givers from Ohana Care - Yan, Karmen and Maria along with the Assisted Living team at AHS. An extra special thanks to her outstanding doctors, Dr. Stajen Warness, Dr. Albert Kers, Dr. Namira Alimohamed, Dr. Robert Nordal and Dr. Zahra Ahamed and all the nurses, Danielle and Matthew, staff and volunteers at Agape Hospice that has been her home for the past weeks.

A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
