It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Arthur Knowles, of Calgary, AB, announces his passing on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the age of 55 years. Born in Perth, NB on March 4, 1960, he was the son of the Doreen (Ward) Knowles and late Milton (Mickey) Knowles of Aroostook, NB. Jeff is survived by his mother Doreen; siblings Robert (Valerie) Knowles of Calgary, AB, David (Jane) Knowles of Katy, TX, Janet Ruth Knowles of Aroostook, NB and Greg (Robyn) Knowles of Calgary, AB; as well as six nephews and nieces. He will be forever missed by his adopted family Jammie and Zsolt Lazar and Brandi and Shelly. Jeff will be most specially missed by the children he held very dear who knew him as ‘Grampy Jeff’ Austin, Alexis, Madison, McKenzy and Zaine. He retired in March 2015 from the Canadian Pacific Railroad, after 38 years of service as a conductor and brakeman. Jeff lived his life on his own terms and will be remembered as a man with a gruff exterior and a heart of pure gold. Respecting Jeff’s wishes, there will be no wake or funeral service. A Private Graveside Service will be planned at a later date, with interment in the McKellar family cemetery in Arthurette, NB. For those who may wish, a memorial donation to the SPCA, 4455 110 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7 would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca
