Joe was born in Toi Shan, China on December 4, 1938. He immigrated to Canada as a teenager with his father where they settled in Olds, Alberta and operated a dry cleaning business. They eventually moved to Calgary. In Calgary, he married Rose on April 22, 1968 and had three daughters. He worked for over 30 years as a custodian for the Calgary Board of Education at various schools before retiring in the year 2000.
Joe was loving, humble, kind, and hardworking. He was well-liked by all. He was always very grateful, never complaining, and enjoyed the simple things of life.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Rose; daughters Cherry (Dave), Betty (Vinh); and Judy (Dean) and grandchildren Marcus and Ellie.
