John Graeme Barber passed away peacefully at Southwood Hospice on January 12, 2018 at the age of 82 years. John is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Ena of 61 years; son David (Kathy); and daughters Sandra (Joe) and Andrea (Bob). John and Ena shared the lives of eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Janet Grout.
John was a stamp collector, an avid fisherman and world traveler having visited 102 countries.
A Memorial Service will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in John’s memory directly to the Southwinds Church, (9920 Fairmount Dr SE, Calgary AB, T2J 0S4) or The Heart and Stroke Foundation, (1212 West Broadway, Ste #200, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V2).
