John Alfred Maaswinkel

John passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the age of 54 years. John is lovingly remembered by his wife Norine of 34 years; daughters Jessica and Heather (John B.); Grandchildren Madelyn, Brayden and Jack as well as many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Cees & Henny Maaswinkel. The family would like to thank the nurses and Doctors on unit 47; Dr. Lipichuk and her team at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre; Dr. Shamanna and Margaret; the staff at the Monterey Park CO-OP Pharmacy. The family would also like to send their love and deepest appreciation to all of the family and friends who supported them through their difficult time. John always lived his life to the fullest and was a dedicated family man. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (Across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made directly to Historica Canada, 2 Carlton Street, East Mezzanine, Toronto, ON M5B 1J3 or via their website at https://www.historicacanada.ca/donate.
