Joyce Martha Hoffman (nee Gerhardt) passed away peacefully at the Brentwood Care Centre in Calgary, AB on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by Harold, her husband of 68 years; daughter Brenda (Pat); daughter-in-law Bonnie; sister, Erma; 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Joyce was predeceased by her son, David and sister, Pearl.
Joyce will be remembered by her sweet, loving spirit and close walk with God. She served with her husband in the pastoral ministry for over 40 years and is thought of by many in the churches where she served as an “ideal pastor’s wife”. She had a selfless spirit, always putting her family and friends before her own needs. Joyce had a beautiful smile and her sense of humour always brought a smile to others. She will be missed by many, but we rejoice that she is now in a place where there is no more pain and suffering.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord” (Matthew 25:23 KJV).
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, (65 Richard Way SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
