Karen was born in Olds, Alberta and raised in Sundre, Alberta. In school, she loved doing her arts and it carried on in her adult life. Karen went to Indefinite Arts to do more arts and crafts. She had several of her art projects in the Stampede and won first prize for one. Karen was involved with Calgary Alternative Support Service, Calgary Special Olympics and Kerby Centre day program. Karen worked for a while as a nanny, in the sewing room at a hotel and boxing and cleaning VHS tapes at a business.
Karen is sadly missed by her sisters Irene, Francis and Diana. Also, survived by brother-in-law Ron and nieces Gayle and Shelley and many relatives. She will be lovingly remembered by many friends and people she was in contact with. Predeceased by her father, Lloyd, mother Betty, and sister Marie.
