She was born in Caglin, Croatia on March 25, 1928 to Josip and Julijana Kraus. Katica was married to Josip Kraljak on December 26, 1945. Josip and Katica, together with son Slavko and daughter Danica, immigrated to Canada in 1963 and made Calgary their home.
Katica is survived by her son Slavko (Heather) and son-in-law Vito Petrovic, grandchildren Shari (Trevor) Hurst, Kevin (Siobhan) Kraljak, Jennifer Kraljak, John Petrovic, Dijana McGrand, and Mirijana Ryder and great-grandchildren, Marina, Krista, Liviah , Carson, Danica, Sydney and Kathrine. Katica was predeceased by her husband Josip, son Josip and daughter Danica Petrovic.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery with Reverend James Hagel officiating.
