It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and Dziadek. Predeceased in 1981 by his dear wife Molly (Mary Margaret Yvonne Walker), Kazimierz (Kaz/Ken) is survived by six children: Steven (Patty), Richard (Judy), Christine Wegleitner (Garry), Marek, Chris (Jean) and Helena Melling (Allen); nineteen grandchildren: John Paul (Melissa) and Naomi Wegleitner; Jenna, Matthew (Janet), Daniel (Kasia), Rachel, Luke, Mary, Lily, and Aislinn Makowski; Lisa Jamieson (Mike); Nicole Gourlie (Chris); Lara Lukacs (Rob); Marla Ellis (Sara); Chelsea White (Matt); Alana Mills (Matthew); Francis, Kristof and Jaylene Melling; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Jade, Eva, Jackson and Kasia Gourlie; Olivia, Noah, Levi and Seth Jamieson; Joey and Jessa Wegleitner; Ayla, Bennett and Aria Makowski; and Zoe Lukacs.
As a young boy, Dad experienced the horrors of World War II. Shortly after the war, Dad, along with his mother and two siblings, was relocated from Barletta, Italy to England. Kazik married his beautiful wife Molly, and after having five children made the brave decision to immigrate to Canada in 1965 to provide their children with better opportunities. Their youngest, Helena, completed the family in 1967. Dad was followed by his brother Leon, wife Joan and family and several years later by his sister Marysia, husband Wladek and family.
Kazik was predeceased by his father Jakub, mother Stanislawa (nee Niewrzeda), brothers Jan, Stanislaw, Leon and Stefan, and sister Stanislawa. He is survived by his loving sister Marysia Ligocki (Wladek) and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Poland. We take solace in knowing Dad is reunited in heaven with his beloved Molly. Dad's life, from the horror he experienced as a child to the legacy of love that is his family, is a testament to his unshakable faith in God.
