Kenneth Gary Eades beloved husband of Joan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Foothills hospital in Calgary on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the age of 79 years. Ken was born on September 18, 1939 in Ottawa, Ontario. After meeting his childhood sweetheart at the age of 12, he married his soulmate 11 years later and began raising their family. After graduating from the Chartered Accounting program at Queen’s University, Ken successfully achieved his CA professional designation and became a longstanding partner at Deloitte & Touche. Deloitte provided Ken with the opportunity to move his young family out to Calgary, AB and take on the role of partnership.
Ken always led an active life – both personally and professionally. Ken enjoyed being a member at the Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club, longtime fan of the Calgary Stampeders, and part of the congregation of the Holy Nativity Anglican Church. He always made time to provide his professional support to various business interests, such as residing as President of the Shaw Progressive Conservative Association and numerous Calgary Stampede volunteer committees.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, Ken, and his mother, Alice. He is survived by his wife, Joan; their daughter Judy Dykman; son Glen Eades (Michelle); and grandchildren, Brittany (Les), Andrew, Dillon, Emily and Natasha.
Funeral Services will be held at the Holy Nativity Anglican Church, (12707 Bonaventure Drive SE), on Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
