With fond memories and heavy hearts, we say good bye to a very special person.

Ken passed away peacefully at Agape Hospice in Calgary on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the age of 92 years.

A thoughtful, caring, dedicated family man Ken, was so very proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. He thoroughly enjoyed visits from family and friends and loved nothing more than a good discussion, particularly a political one.

Throughout the years Ken enjoyed curling, camping, wood working doing numerous home renovations, and eventually together with Trude, designing and building their dream home. Ken was proud of his 46 year newspaper career starting at the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, moving on to the Edmonton Journal, and then the Calgary Herald.

Ken and his wife Trude enjoyed 62 years of adventure, love and laughter. And he has greatly missed her companionship for the last 8 years. They are both lovingly remembered by Larry Turner (Anne), Richard Turner, Karen Kjenner (Randy), Barbara Shanahan; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. While sad, we are uplifted by the memories of his many stories, his kindness, generosity, and love of family.

At Ken’s request there will not be a service.

Fond memories of Ken, working with him at the Herald, playing golf from Calgary to California, swimming at Renfrew pool and playing pool on Fridays at the Chapelhow Legion where we had some great conversations about life, family, politics and the world in general.
Although he would shrug it off as all in a day's work. he deserves recognition for the job he did in getting the new Herald building(circa1982) up and running. It was a magnificent building for it's day and still is.
Condolences to Ken's family.
