Kerry was a loving wife, mom, sister and a faithful friend. Her heart was full of kindness, she showed a deep respect for everyone she met and made a genuine effort to always do the right thing.
Kerry was born in Vancouver to Phillip and Helen Nicolle. She experienced much of Canada as a child as the family moved to Kimberley, BC then onto Ontario, the Yukon, and Quebec, before settling in Winnipeg, MB. She completed her Junior and Senior High School in Winnipeg then went on to study Geology at The University of Manitoba. A fellow Geology student John Cranstone caught her eye, and she his, and in December 1972 they were married in Winnipeg and then set up home in Calgary. Kerry took pride in the fact she had three careers; Geologist, Mother and Library Technician and she pursued all of them with dedication.
She had a lifelong passion for quilting and was a member of a number of Guilds and Groups. Her works adorn beds, walls, sofas and tables in the homes of many family members, friends and acquaintances.
Travel was another of her interests and she delighted in all the various trips she took including Bali and Iceland with daughter Devon and a cruise around Scotland with her sisters. Although excited to see new places she was always happy with the annual visit to the family cottages in Manitoba where she could relax, enjoy kayaking and observe nature.
Kerry leaves to cherish her memory her husband John, daughters Devon and Kendall and grandson Grayson as well as sisters Shelley (Arnie), Lindsay (Gerry) and Gay (Jim) and nephew Lloyd and nieces Becky & Tracey.
