It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a very special mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Leah Riefsnyder. Leah passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Mayfair Care Centre, Calgary, AB at the age of 103 years. She was born on May 4, 1911 in the Beiseker area.
Leah leaves to mourn a son, Kenneth (Wendy); daughter, Karen (Graham) Grasdal; grandson, Kyle (Irene); and siblings, Jollean Shallard and Allan Berreth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many great grandnieces and nephews. We wish to thank the staff at the Mayfair Care Centre for all their compassionate care given to Leah over the past year.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
