Len McKechnie

Len is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Georgie; children, Marvin (Karen), Lawrence, Gena and Neil (Shelley) and six grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Lauren, Erin, Allison and Ian. He is survived by his sister, Ethel, as well as many nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his sisters, Mabel, Ellinor and Verna and brother, Harvey. Len was born on the family farm near Tuffnell, SK and was the youngest of six children. He moved to Jasper, AB in his 20’s where he met and married Georgie. In the early 60’s, they moved to the Didsbury area and purchased a farm where they raised their children. Len enjoyed baseball, curling and community involvement. He retired from the oil and gas industry in 1992.

A Memorial Service will be held at Olds Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 105, 5241 46 Street, Olds, AB T4H 1H5 on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Westerdale United Churchyard Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Veteran’s Food Bank, 1, 4539 - 6 Street N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 3Z6.
