Leo passed away peacefully at Bow-Crest Care Center on December 20, 2017 at the age of 97 years.
Leo was born in Enschede, Netherlands on July 10, 1920. Bertha and Leo were married right after the war on May 19, 1945 in Enschede and moved to Delft, Netherlands, where he worked at Royal Delft Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles. In the fall of 1955 Leo and family moved to Calgary, Canada, where he worked for Eric Harvie’s various philanthropic endeavours. Leo & Bertha enjoyed their retirement in their home in Bowness and spending time in the East Kootenay’s. In addition to his wonderful sense of humour and engaging smile, Leo’s artistic gifts will be sadly missed. A private memorial service may be held at a later date.
