

Leslie was born in Liverpool, England on May 28, 1923 to parents Harry and Dorothy Pauline Fong. He moved to China in the late 1920’s where he met his wife, Linda, and married her in 1945. After having two children, Leslie and Linda moved back to England, and from there they moved to Canada permanently in 1967. Leslie was a restaurant owner before transitioning into accounting and spent his career at Petro-Fina where he retired at the age of 60. After retirement, Leslie spent many years traveling the world on cruises with Linda and his family & friends. He enjoyed reading, exercising at the YMCA, attending church, lunches with friends, opera, and classical music.
Leslie was known as a kind, quiet gentleman whose peaceful presence blessed everyone around him. He lived a long and meaningful life, and is lovingly survived by his wife Linda, daughter Lyn (Jimmy, deceased), son Colin (Dorothy), grandchildren Penny (deceased), Geoff, Jason (Franny), Melody (Trevor), great-grandchildren Ariana and Asher, sisters Joyce, Gay (Ray), brother Del, and many nieces and nephews. He is remembered as a gentle, dedicated family man who deeply cherished his loved ones.
Leslie wished to be cremated, with a burial in Calgary, Alberta. A private family service will be held at a later date as per his request.
