With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our loved one Lolita, who left this world on May 24, 2025, at 88 years old. Lolita was a woman whose love and light touched all who knew her, and though she had left us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on January 09, 1937, in Luba, Abra, Philippines, Lolita’s life was one of grace, warmth, and unwavering love. She grew up surrounded by the love of her close-knit family, that treasured her deeply. She was the woman always willing to help those in-need. Her smile, her laughter, her gentle words, her kindness - these were the gifts she gave freely to all.
Lolita met the love of her life, Eugenio Danglapen, who had predeceased her. Their bond was a beautiful testament to true love, built on trust, respect, and a shared devotion to family. Together, they created a home filled with laughter and warmth. Lolita’s greatest joy was being a mother. She poured her soul into her children, teaching them not only with words but by the way she lived - showing them the power of kindness, patience, and sacrifice. Lolita spent a considerable amount of time away from her children at a time, to earn a living in another country–one of her life’s biggest sacrifices. Her children, Reggie, who predeceased her, Leo, and Adela, were the center of her world, and she was their greatest cheerleader, always there to listen, to comfort, and to encourage.
As a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, Lolita’s heart grew even bigger. Her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all too many to count, who loved her dearly, survive her. They brought immeasurable joy, and she showered them with love, wisdom, and tender care. Every moment spent with her grandchildren was a gift that she treasured to the end.
Lolita’s home was her sanctuary, where she shared her greatest gift: her love of cooking. Whether it was a hot meal served with a side of laughter or a listening ear during difficult times, Lolita gave all of herself to her family and friends. She believed that love was the greatest thing we offer, and she offered it freely every day, in every way. She had the rare ability to make everyone feel special, to make people feel seen and heard, and her kindness knew no bounds. Lolita never had to say much; her presence was enough to make everything feel right.
Lolita’s faith was the anchor in her life. As a lifelong Christian, her unwavering devotion to God and her community affected everyone who knew her. In every prayer, in every act of service, she lived her faith with humility, grace, and love. Lolita’s heart was as open as her arms, and she taught us all that love is the truest form of faith.
Lolita leaves behind a legacy of love and family that will never fade. Her children survive her: her adored grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, surviving sister, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, whose lives she touched so deeply.
As we say goodbye to this beautiful soul, the knowledge that Lolita’s love and presence will live on in each of us is a comfort. Her wisdom, her grace, and her unshakable faith have shaped us all in ways words cannot express.
Lolita, you were everything to us - our anchor, our guide, our greatest love and matriarch. You are forever in our hearts, and we carry you with us, always.
