Lorenzo was born in beautiful Antrodoco, Italy. He was the son of Pietro and Santa Ciuffa, and grew up with his beloved sister, Iole. He immigrated to Canada after WWII, helping to build the St. Lawrence Seaway, the DEW line in Canada’s Arctic, and completed his career with 37 years at Canada Packers in Calgary, AB. For many years, he also travelled the world – including meeting the love of his life at a wedding in Italy, Carolina, whom he married. They welcomed two beautiful children, Peter and Daniela, and were overjoyed to add daughter-in-law, Kathleen, and son-in-law, Stewart into the family. The birth of his two grandsons, Lorenzo (named in his honour) and Nikolo was one of the highlights of his long and vibrant life. Lorenzo maintained a fulfilling and active life well into his 90s. The man-about-town could be seen shopping for groceries, tending to his prized garden (especially his tomato’s) making wine, and continuing to travel. His greatest joy, though, was sharing a glass of wine, a great meal, and laughs with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all. When possible, a proper celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Salvation Army or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
