Louise passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the age of 91 years. She was the beloved wife of Dave who she shared her life with for 55 years until his passing in 2006. Louise lived in Jarvie, then Edmonton where she worked as a stenographer on the air base. As a wife and mother she raised her family in Peace River, Edmonton and many years in NW Calgary. Her gardening and needlework skills were admired, a joy to her and family. Louise leaves behind her sister Grace Giese and brother-in-law Elmar Abele (Irene). She is predeceased by her sisters Irene Abele and Mary Brown; brothers-in-law Len Brown and Ted Giese; and more recently sister-in-law Margaret Turner. Louise was a gentle, kind lady and outstanding mother to her five children Gail (Yvon), Bob (Angie), Brian (Karen), Gary (Jane) and Marilyn. She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandsons and four granddaughters. In recent years she beamed with love during each visit with her seven great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters and was very pleased with the news of a twelfth great-grandchild's arrival this fall. Louise's family wishes to express thanks for the care given to Louise at the Bow-Crest Care Centre over the past six years, and many thanks to Dr. Catherine McKenna. A private memorial service will be held. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
