

She was born in Delia, Alberta on November 16, 1925, eldest of six children of Walter Whalen Scott and Lucy Ruby Scott (nee Stone). She is predeceased by her husband of 63½ years, Allan Henry Harrison, and is survived by her children Marion Gaye Harrison (husband Peter Thompson), David Brian Huron (partner Kristin Elena Precoda), Kenneth Bruce Harrison (wife Elizabeth Harrison-Cain), Douglas Allan Harrison, grandson Casey Scott Harrison, and great grandson Zachary Gladden.
After completing her schooling, she worked in Calgary for two years at the Provincial Land Office before being transferred to Peace River in 1946. There she met her husband Al, married in 1947, and began to raise a family. Through Al’s many career changes, Lu made home after home as the family frequently moved, initially to Drumheller and Calgary, Alberta; then Toronto, Ottawa and Guelph, Ontario; and eventually retiring to Calgary in 1976.
On returning to Calgary she worked for several years for DeKalb Mining and DeKalb Petroleum Corporation.
A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Bethany Care Centre, 916 – 16A Street NW, Calgary. In lieu of flowers, donations to any charity are welcomed.
