Margaret (Marg) Gay Parkyn of Calgary passed away on January 30, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 85. She is survived by her son, Wade Parkyn, grandchildren Cassidy and Alexander Parkyn, Brother-in-law, Tom Parkyn (Jill) and Sister-in-law, Lynn Kelly and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marg was born in Hanna, Alberta on March 12, 1938. Her family moved to Jasper, Alberta where her father worked for the railroad. Marg began working in a bank in Jasper as a new high school graduate and this became a life-long career, including thirty-five years for the Bank of Montreal.
Marg was predeceased by her husband, Max Parkyn, her parents, William and Catherine Simpson, sister and brother-in-law, Jean Gundry-White (Cliff) and brother and sister-in-law, Jack Simpson (Doreen).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday Feb. 8, 2024, at Foster’s Garden Chapel at 2:00 pm. The family would like to thank the numerous doctors, nurses and caregivers who supported Marg and the family over the last many years.
